Newfoundland UFO mystery

Here is a picture of the Newfoundalnd UFO that was seen over the skies of Harbour MIle, a small rural town in Newfoundland on Monday January 25th, 2010.

Newfoundland UFO

Government officials are still not talking about the Newfoundland UFO mystery that occured on the 25th of January. Officials from both the police department and the Department of Defence are not revealling what the object in question is that was spotted and photographed in the skies over Harbour Mile Newfoundland. They have said that they have discovered the source of the object but no public statement has been made yet.

Citizens who witnessed a rocket like object soaring through the sky above a tiny rural community in Newfoundland Monday evening receiving no answers about what it was , however Law Enforcement officials say they have solved the mystery of what it was

Darlene Stewart witnessed the object while snapping of the sunset above Harbour Mille, a community of about 200 residents on the southern coast of the province. She says she began snapping photos of the object.

Darlene then called her neighbor, Emmy Pardy, and the two women, along with Darlen's husband, say they saw three similar objects soaring through the air minutes apart, one of the objects was close by and the two others were further away in the distance.

The photos taken by Stewart show blurry pictures of what appears to be a long, round object, much like a rocket that looks to be ascending from the ocean, with either smoke or flames coming out the back end.

"I really did get sick to my stomach, I was shaking when I seen it," Stewart said. "We were just in awe of what we seen."

The Objects were silent.

Stewart said the objects were completely silent.

Stewart said Tuesday she has been overwhelmed by the number of calls she has received about the sighting. But she said nobody has told her officially what it was that she saw.

"I would like to get to the bottom of it," she said.

"We confirmed that it was something," Sgt. Wayne Edgecombe said Wednesday. But Edgecombe said he couldn't disclose what the police probe had uncovered.

Edgecome said the investigavtion centered around if any laws were broken.

"It's nothing criminal," he said, in relation to the unidentified object.

Edgecombe said he spoke with the Department of National Defence and "they gave me some info," but he said that it is up to that department to release the information publicly.

Defence department officials were declining comment.

The sighting has sparked interest with people in the Harbour Mille area, with some saying they were told by police who were in the vacinity Tuesday investigating the sightings, that the objects were test missiles launched from the French islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon that are not far off shore.

Those rumors are completely unfounded and and false according to Edgecombe.

Liberal MP Gerry Byrne, who represents the Newfoundland riding of Humber-St. Barbe-Baie Verte, is demanding answers after hearing that his event may have possibly involved the Department of National Defence (DND).

"There's a credible body of evidence, that suggests there's something spectacular happened off of our shore. Before this goes any farther, I think the government needs to actually respond very quickly with a straightforward, factual statement." responded Byrne.

Were Citizens Endangered?

Byrne said if it was some kind of military exercise, then citizens should be informed on if their safety was ever endangered.

"If indeed this was a man-made object, that it was a missile, was there any potential risk to health and safety from collateral damage should the missile fire have failed?"

Not as it seems.com comments:

I'm not really sure what to make of this yet. It can't be a meteor or space depris becasue at the beginning of the articles it metions the object rising out of the ocean. It can only e a missle test or a spacecraft. There are many UFO reports or marines and fishermen seeing objects go into, and come out of water. But at the same time, if this was a missle test than why would the police officer in the article say that the rumor of this object being a missle test is completely false.

It has been disclosed that this sighting is no longer a mystery so the public needs to be addressed as to what this sighting was. The military has no right hiding something that was in full public view of it's citizens. They have the right to know if they were in any kind of danger and if this is going to happen again in the future.

The Canadian House of Commons is Prorogued right now meaning that is pretty much shut down. So the government officials who supposedly represent these citizens have no way of getting to the bottom of this through policital actions. I dont' know when the Government sets back up, i believe it may be March 3rd, but it will be interesting to see if this event just gets forgotten about and ignored when they do get back to their jobs.
