UFO's
My Story
I was going to make this an article but decided to make this story the start page of my UFO site. I have always had an interest in UFO's and this may be the story of how I became interested in them.
I don't remember the exact dates of when this happened but I was still very young. I'm guessing that I was probably still in grade 2 or 3 so it had to be sometime between 1976 and 1978. Your probably thinking that I was just a little kid and cant' remember this clearly or what I saw amazed me so much that I exagurate the facts in my head but I remember this day very clearly and not only that I can refference what I was to other objects in the area so I dont' see anything can be exagurated.
I am not making any of this story up and what I tell here is exactly how I remember it. I am not going to change names or anything. This is EXACTLY what happened.
A Beautiful Summer Day
Like I said I'm not sure of my age but I had to be 7 or 8 years old. It was right in the middle of summer vacation and me and my brother Tony were over at our friends house, Danny and Joey Paquette. We were all sitting around in the back yard just sitting on their swingset and talking. They had a big back yard and just beyond that was a field that extended behind all the houses, all the way down the entire length of my street where it entered into a park.
Beyond the field were a bunch of train tracks where they would load cars onto trains for shipping. Between these tracks and the field behind the houses was a small little hill just put there as a way of blocking the sound of the trains. Just in front of the hill was a wire fence to keep the kids away from the train tracks, not that it ever stopped us. Well this wire fence was between 4 and 5 feet tall.

So the 4 of us were sitting around talking on this lazy summer day when a kid from school came walking down the field from the dirrection of the park. I forget the kids first name , it may have been Simon. His last name was Jerishevits. (I know that is spelt wrong, I googled it hoping to find out the correct spelling but it wouldn't give me any kind of results at all). The Jerishvits had 4 or 5 boys in their family and this was one of them. Well Simon came walking down the field and stopped at my friends property line. "Do you guys wanna see some Giant Spiders?" He asked. Me and my friends just looked at each other as the question caught us off guard. "What?" One of us finally answered to make sure we heard him correctly.
"Do you guys wanna see some Giant Spiders?". He asked again.
Well what 7 or 8 year old boy wouldn't want to look at a giant spider. So the 4 of us jumped off the swingset and walked up to Simon. He started walking back towards the park with us right behind him. I don't remember anything being said as we walked down the field but when we got about 3 quarters of the way to the park, Simon stopped and pointed to the wire fence just in front of the "Sound" hill.
Giant Spiders!
All of us stopped in total dis-belief. There sitting on the fence was two GIANT Spiders. None of us were expecting this. These "Spiders" were almost as big as the wire fence that they were clinging to, making them approxametly 4 Feet Tall. Yeah I said it.....These "Spiders" were about 4 feet tall. There were two of them sitting on the fence and as we looked at them there was a little rustling in the thick brush behind them and a little to the west. We took this to be a 3rd spider that was in the brush but we couldn't see it. Now I call them spiders and they looked alot like spiders but I some distinct things about them. They were Yellow and Black, and I remember them 
only having 4 legs. Long legs.
As soon as we saw the spiders we stopped in our tracks and didnt' get much closer to them but we were stilll only between 10 and 15 feet away from them. I don't know if you want to scale form the map how far we were from them, but we were roughly half way between the property line and the wire fence. Maybe a little closer to the fence than half way by maybe 1 or 2 feet.
Not a Hoax
Now remember this is the mid 70's so there wasn't anything like robots or animatronics that would be readily availale to the general public so there is no way that these spiders were anything like that. And the spiders did move. Besides the one that moved around in the brush that we coulnd't see, at least one of the spiders on the fence moved it's legs. I remember that becasue we all jumped a little cause we thought he might be coming down off the fence. Not only were they not tobots of any kind they were not any kind of puppet or anything like that either. If they were I don't know how they could have made them. They were just way too realistic for anything available in the mid 70's.
Simon was talking to us the entire time we were looking at the spiders but I dont' remember much of what was being said. I think my mind was to too focused on what I was seeing rather than what I was hearing, but do remember one thing that was said, and this one thing stands out clearly.
They Came in Space Ships
Simon was talking and I wasn't paying much attention. I was just focused on the spiders but one thing he said was more surprising than what we were seeing and I remember it clearly.
"One day they are going to come down in space ships and take over the world" Simon said.
That is about the only thing I remember being said the entire time.
After about 10 or 15 minutes, I don't rememer exactly how long we stayed and looked ath the spiders, we went back to my friends back yard.
Two Different Tales
Of our two friends that were with me on that day. Joey was considered my best friend because we were the same age, and Danny was considered my brother Tony's best friend because they were the same age. But whenever we talked about out experience to other people It was me and Danny who always rememered the "spiders" being about 4 feet tall. Yet Joey and my brother remembered the spiders as only about 6 INCHES tall. We all remember them being Yellow and Black though.
These spiders were clearling as big as the wire fence I am 100 percent positive on that, to me there is no way that they could be mistaken for only being 6 inches tall. We only got to within 10-15 feet away from them so something 6 inches tall we wouldn't see very good. Not only that but they were sitting on a fence thtat was 4 - 5 feet tall and these spiders were at least 3 quarters the size of that fence.
Danny and Joey moved away in Grade 8 so I havn't really seen much of them since than, but nowadays on the odd time that I ask my brother about the spiders he doesn't even rememer them at all and when I mention the spiders being 3 or 4 feet tall he thinks I'm as crazy as probably all of you do. But if my brother remember the spiders only being about 6 inches big than this event isn't significant enough to remember 30 years later.
Possibilities
Now this even may be the one that got me interested in UFOs so I started reading books about them. I didnt' read alot of books as I wasn't that big of a ready but I read maybe one or two a year. I'd also make sure to watch any TV specials that happened to be about UFO"s as well.
So with my study of UFO's I began seeing some similarities between this event and some of the stories I read about UFO's and Aliens.
One thing that I read about in Alien Abduction stories is that alot of times when a child get Abducted they are led into the woods or wherever by a friend that is familiar to them. We were lead down the field by someone familar to us but none of us ever hung around with any of the Jerishevits boys.
Another similarity is that most Abductees have their memory of the event erased or even replaced with something entirely different.
Now my next comment is pure speculation because I don't remember thos spiders as anything other than spiders. I don't remember seeing any UFOs or Aliens or anything else, but maybe those spiders were actually Aliens and were were made to remember them as spiders. Could that possibly be why we rememer them as two different sizes?
And lastly why would Simon tell us that "Spiders" were coming down in Space Ships one day. Why would a Spider have anything to do at all with a Space Ship?
In Conclusion
I'm not saying I was abducted by Aliens becasue I have no memories at all of anything like that, but I remember CLEAR AS FREAKIN DAY that I saw spiders that were about 4 feet tall. As soon as I started going on the internet in the mid '90s ('95 or '96), I started looking up giant spiders. I have not found anything at all similar to this story.
